Sometimes as I write kanji quizzes for my students, I wonder, "Am I being too evil?"

And then other times, I think of something to put on a kanji quiz, and I think, "OMG that is so evil bwahahaha I AM AWESOME." XD

Today my 14-year-old Japanese student said what may be THE best thing that has ever been said in my presence in the history of tutoring.

She said, "Kanji are my frenemy."
